MADISON – Senator Kathleen Vinehout (D-Alma) announced she will join other Western Wisconsin legislators to hold budget listening sessions in Eau Claire and La Crosse.

These public events will provide additional opportunities for people to voice concerns about Governor Walker’s proposed budget.
“Constituents from our district called and asked for alternatives,” said Sen. Vinehout.  “Citizens can bring their concerns before area legislators in Eau Claire and La Crosse or can testify before the full Finance Committee in Arcadia.”

Sen. Vinehout urged people to testify at the hearings.  “Western Wisconsin has unique needs which must be considered in writing the budget,” said Sen. Vinehout.  “I am grateful Finance Committee members are able to join us during evening and weekend hours.  The interest of the people is better served when more voices are heard during decision making.”  Local legislators and elected officials are invited to participate.
