Kathleen,
Another insight into your push for better schools and more funding for public education. Small towns don't just need good schools for their children, they need it for the health of the community itself. In Melrose our prime industry is farming, but I am sure our biggest employer is the public school. We produce corn, hogs, dairy and educated children. With changing times, many families commute for their job. Before new families move to Melrose or Mindoro, they want to know about the schools. If the schools are lousy, they will move somewhere else. That is income out of the area and less life in our area. Our population drops. Good schools sustain our population and bring new families to the area.
I see this in my attempts to recruit trained medical staff to Black River Falls. I have lost several prospects when the schools don't size up to other communities and wives don't want to bring the kids or start a family here.
keep up the good work.

Great job at the Stoughton Forum on Sunday. I have a question. I have heard that Wisconsin Act 10 cut taxable income by 22% which would leave us with even less revenue to run the state. Even if Act 10 is repealed, Wisconsin would remain a low income state compared to surrounding states. New York is looking at increasing their minimum wage. What do you think of this idea? It could generate income tax and sales tax revenue.
Thanks for your consideration.

I would like to know how to get a Vinehout yard sign. My address is:
417 N. 7th St.
Madison, WI 53704

If there is a place in Madison to pick one up, I could pick it up. If someone wants to come by and put one in my yard, that is fine too. There aren't any Vinehout signs in my neighborhood and I would like to have one so she has a presence here. I am not crazy about Falk (even though I live in Madison) and I know others aren't either. I am voting for Vinehout!
Thanks,
Barb Jenkin

Hi Kathleen, I sat with you after your presentation last night in Sturgeon Bay. I have to say that for being an Independent I was extremely impressed with you and would not hesitate to vote for you. I hope you are able to really campaign in the bigger cities so they can get to hear you also. I would hate to see your big city competitors continue to ignore the small markets, just focusing on the numbers. You have much to offer big city people as well as small town. Good luck!

How big of a role will diversifying the job market play a role in your plan to fix the state's economy?

Thanks for the note, Jane. I'll pass on your request to Kathleen. You can pick up signs and buttons at the new campaign office 2617 E. Washington Ave. Kathleen will be there before the rally and we have lots of supporters coming from all over the state. It should be a great day! Lisa
